Gavin Sewell is showing new work in We Are Not Going Back, a Kamala Harris themed exhibit at Zenith Gallery running from September 20 – October 12, 2024 with opening receptions and artist talks on Friday, Sept 20, 4-8 PM & Saturday, Sept 21, 2-6 PM.

Sewell’s contributions to this show are digital collages on fine paper with hand drawn mixed-media elements. Unique works from suites of multiples, these pieces allude to the daily history of social and political struggle that made possible the moment when a woman of color can run for President of the United States on a major party ticket. Silhouettes of blank white suggest the open possibilities for the future of a new administration charting its own course through history. The artist is also creating custom made pieces from this series for private collectors on a commission basis — interested parties can contact the studio directly.
